Due to explosive growth this Hartford based Financial Services firm seeks 3 Senior .net Programmer/Analyst to join an existing team. This position will initially be on a contract basis with the potential for hire. POSITION PURPOSE:
Develops, designs, enhances and documents advanced software applications.

DIMENSIONS: Software: VB.net, XML, SQL Server Operating Systems Used: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 Reports To: VP Software Development

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under limited supervision, formulate and design system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify complex information systems programs. Design and develop source code to perform the requirements of the application specifications. Develop test data for the purpose of testing whether the program or not it meets application design specifications. Document program design, coding and maintenance to allow for future changes. Provide guidance to less experienced programmer/analysts.

Position Qualifications:

Education: A B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent education in a related discipline is required. Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.

Job Related Experience:
Typically requires 5 - 7 years programming/analysis experience. Strong knowledge of various tools including: Visual Basic.net ASP.net Microsoft SQL Server XML based e-commerce systems Excellent Ability to communicate with users and clients. Comprehensive knowledge of the collection of business requirements Strong knowledge of how to interact with external clients, as well as, internal resources for the purpose of problem resolution. Possesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Work is complex and requires good analytical ability. Acts in a senior or lead capacity by assigning and reviewing the work of others.

Decision Making/Problem Solving

Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems. Uses some independent judgment to identify problems and recommend solutions. Plans events that occur weekly. Provide guidance to less experienced team members Perm compensation to 75k - 95k or hourly - Market rates

Java Developer - Contractor - Hartford area (Need 2) Immediate need for a Java developer to participate within an ongoing project - minimum of 2 years utilizing: JAVA, J2EE, middleware, and SQL/ORACLE downtown Hartford, preferably within a financials environment - quick start 6 months plus - no sponsorship available Green card or US citizenship required. Position #3 Java and Senior JSF Developers - Contractor or Contract to Hire Hartford area (Need 3) Urgent need with immediate start seeking 5+yrs of J2EE experience, including 2+yrs of Hibernate and Spring. As a Sr Java developer, you will be collaborating with the client on a major conversion project of an existing legacy application over to a Java platform. Your input will also help the client to determine what areas of the project to re-architected as they are not optimally designed and then head up the re-write of those portions of the project.
